A letter was mailed to the Principal Investigator for each proposal not selected for award with the following instructions for requesting copies of the technical evaluations:

To obtain a copy of your technical evaluations, please send a request on your company letterhead, referencing your proposal number, to: SBIR Program Office, NIST, 100 Bureau Drive, Stop 2000, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-2000 or by fax to 301-548-0624. Please do not send duplicate requests. The evaluations are sent to the Principal Investigator as contained in the proposal.

The SBIR FY99 Phase 1 Selection Committee of NIST met to review technical evaluations of the top scoring proposals received in response to the FY99 NIST Solicitation. Based upon the Evaluation and Selection Criteria (Part 4.3) of the FY99 Department of Commerce SBIR Program Solicitation, the Selection Committee’s decision is that the below listed companies will each receive funding up to a maximum of $75,000 to undertake a Phase 1 contract:
